Volunteer OpportunitiesThe 2010 baseball season has begun. Windsor American Little League operates solely on its volunteers, and when more dedicated volunteers step up, the result is a better League and experience for our kids. The current volunteers that are involved are also parents of players that want the best for their kids, but they can’t do it alone. There are volunteer jobs available for everyone, if you think you can help in any way, please step up. The following are examples of jobs/tasks where help is needed: Coaches (Tee-ball, coach pitch)Coaches should schedule 2 practice/get togethers at beginning of season to get kids accustomed to each other. The season consists of 2 games per week for 6 weeks and practices are optional at the discretion of the parents/coaches. The games will be either on Mondays and Wednesday or Tuesdays and Thursdays. Extensive knowledge of baseball is not necessary, however, patience and the willingness to make the game of baseball fun is. Please consult the Coaching Resource links on this site for coaching tips. Contact Fred Tanguay if you are interested in helping. Umpire CoordinatorYou will be provided a list of volunteer umpires with their phone numbers and a games schedule. There may be a total of 30 game slots to fill between AAA and the Majors. One home plate and One base umpire are needed. Contact Fred Tanguay if you are interested in helping.
